David N. Fogg

David, a founding member of Fogg & Powers LLC, is a registered patent attorney practicing in the areas of telecommunications, computer hardware and software, semiconductor processing and electronic circuits. David's practice focuses on patent preparation and prosecution, opinions, client counseling and litigation support. David was named a Super Lawyer in the Minnesota legal community by Minnesota Law and Politics magazine in 2002, 2003, and 2004. David was also identified as among the top 40 IP attorneys in Minnesota in 2003.

In April 2000, David launched the Twin Cities-based firm of Fogg Slifer and Polglaze (FSP). During his time with FSP, David developed a client base that fueled the growth of FSP from the three original attorneys to twelve attorneys and a ten-person support staff. Prior to his experience with FSP, David was an officer with the Minneapolis- based firm of Schwegman, Lundberg, Woessner & Kluth.

Previously, David practiced as in-house patent counsel for AT&T Bell Laboratories in Whippany, New Jersey supporting the wireless telecommunications portion of AT&T Network Systems Division (now part of Lucent Technologies). He also practiced with the intellectual property section of Houston-based Baker & Botts, L.L.P., where his practice was divided between intellectual property litigation and patent prosecution.

David earned his undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from Boston University, summa cum laude, and his law degree from Brigham Young University J. Reuben Clark Law School, magna cum laude.

David is a licensed attorney in Virginia and Minnesota and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the American Bar Association, and the Minnesota Intellectual Property Law Association.
