Dr. Barbara F. Barenburg

Barbara is a physicist and a registered patent agent practicing in the areas of communications, optics, electro-optics, and electronic technologies. Barbara has written and prosecuted applications pertaining to various aspects of communication and aerospace systems, imaging systems, RFID systems, antennae design, and computer software.

Prior to joining Fogg & Powers, Barbara worked at Motorola PCRL in Tempe, Arizona for over nine years and at GTE Laboratories (now Verizon) in Waltham, Massachusetts for twelve years. During that time, Barbara was involved in projects covering a wide range of technologies including optical components for fiber optic systems, optical parallel transceiver systems, microfludics for biotechnology applications, novel epitaxial growth, and microphotonics. Barbara is an inventor on 20 issued patents.

Barbara received her PhD in Physics from Brandeis University, Waltham, MA and earned her bachelor’s degree in Physics from San Francisco State University, San Francisco, CA. She is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) and the Minnesota Intellectual Property Law Association (MIPLA).
