About Wade

Wade is a registered patent attorney practicing in the areas of telecommunications, blockchains and distributed ledgers, and other electrical, mechanical, and software technologies.  Wade’s practice focuses on patent preparation and prosecution, client counseling, and portfolio strategy and management.  For over a decade, Wade has helped clients of all sizes create and manage valuable intellectual property portfolios in the United States and internationally.

 

Wade started his career in intellectual property law as a student clerk and attorney with another intellectual property law firm in Minneapolis.  During law school at the University of Minnesota, Wade enjoyed practical opportunities working with clients as a student attorney and student director with the University of Minnesota’s Consumer Protection Clinic and learning about the courts while externing with the Honorable J. Thomas Greene of the United States District Court for the District of Utah.  While studying engineering, Wade worked on robotics, computer vision, and software projects at Brigham Young University and aided with a software project while interning at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics.

 

Wade has worked with clients across a wide range of industries who innovate in various technologies.  From solo inventors and startups to Fortune 500 companies, Wade strives to provide value to each client he serves while discussing inventions, drafting applications, responding to official actions, and appealing decisions.  Wade works with clients to understand both technical aspects of innovations and business objectives to improve patent portfolios.  Further, Wade works closely with knowledgeable foreign counsel to create patent strategies tailored to the intricacies of specific jurisdictions.

 

Outside of intellectual property work, Wade enjoys hiking, camping, backpacking, skiing, tinkering with technology, and spending time with his family.
