About Paul
Paul, Of Counsel with Fogg & Powers LLC, is a registered patent attorney practicing in the areas of telecommunications, power management, circuit design, optics, semiconductors, and software. Paul's practice focuses on patent preparation and prosecution, opinions, and client counseling. Paul developed his skill set working as an engineer and then as an attorney.
Prior to joining Fogg & Powers, Paul was Chief Intellectual Property Counsel of Intersil Corporation, and original developer of Wi-Fi chip sets and software and a leader in power management technology. Paul cost effectively reinvigorated Intersil’s patent portfolio, successfully defended against patent assertions, and monetized the company’s intellectual property through litigation, licensing, and sales. He leveraged the company’s patent portfolio to permit Intersil to expand into new markets and generate significant revenue. Paul negotiated and drafted scores of license, joint development, service, sales, and merger and acquisition agreements.
Prior to entering the legal profession, Paul practiced as an electrical engineer, lastly at Raytheon’s Research Division, designing microwave and millimeter-wave compound semiconductor integrated circuits.
Outside of work, Paul enjoys fishing and contributing to his community. Paul is a member of his municipality’s planning and zoning board and is active in his homeowners association.
