About Scott

Scott is a registered patent attorney providing patent drafting, prosecution, and client counseling services.  Electrical and mechanical technologies including telecommunications, drivetrain components, avionics systems, and computer hardware are some of the focus areas of Scott’s practice.


Scott began his intellectual property law carrier in 2000 with the intellectual property law firm of Fogg Slifer and Polglaze focusing on patent drafting and prosecution.  Scott joined the law firm of Fogg and Associates (now Fogg & Power LLC) in 2002.  In 2008, Scott joined the law firm of IPLM Group P.A. until rejoining Fogg Powers LLC in 2016.  Prior to practicing intellectual property law, Scott was a District Court Judge in the Court of Central Jurisdictions for Mille Lacs band of the Chippewa Indians.


Scott works with a wide range of clients from fortune 500 companies to solo inventors.  Scott enjoys working with clients and inventors in developing strategies to protect their intellectual property and helping clients manage patent portfolios both in the United States and internationally. 


Outside of work, Scott enjoys spending time with his family and outdoors activity including skiing, hiking, fly fishing, and paddle boarding.
